A great way to start is with a line marking jig. It allows you to accurately mark the centre line on your golf ball. When you line up your golf ball's centre with your target its one less thing to worry about. Instead of buying a shop bought jig which can be hard to find and expensive to buy try this quick and easy instructable. take a golf ball and sit it in the countersink of the pine block. squirt some superglue around the outside of the exposed surface around the golf ball. be careful not to glue the ball to the block. now take the 12mm ply and place the hole over around the golf ball and line it up so there is an even space all the way around the ball (about 0.5mm).
